How to use astrology to find compatible star signs and your love match
We are all looking for that relationship that works for us. We need to realise that there is no such thing as a ‘perfect relationship’. All relationships take effort. We often hear people say ‘all I need is the right person and everything will be okay’. Remember, perfect human beings do not exist on this planet. Maybe it’s time to take off the rose coloured glasses.
Astrology compatibility: The role of the Sun-Sign
From an astrological perspective, we get a clear idea of how a relationship works. To begin with, as a general rule, Sun-Sign compatibility is one of the most positive connections between two people. The fire signs, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, are compatible with one another and with the air signs, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. The earth signs, Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, are compatible with one another and with the water signs, Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. The air signs are compatible with one another as are the water signs.
There’s a lot to be said for lovers of the same element. The Water signs experience the same emotions, the Fire signs all like excitement, the Air signs love exchanging ideas, and the Earth signs like to share what they have.
We often see oddly matched signs, such as Sagittarius (fire) and Pisces (water) or Cancer (water) and Libra (air). We wonder what causes these unlikely duos to be attracted to each other. We need to look at how the other planets within the two charts are interacting with each other to assess this.
Your moon sign and its role in love compatibility
The assessment of each person’s Moon sign and connection to each chart will ascertain the emotional compatibility within a relationship as it relates to emotions. The connection of each person’s Moon will help to determine how they relate to each other emotionally.
Mars and Venus: The planets of attraction and desire
Two other planets that contribute to the understanding of a relationship are Mars and Venus.
The planet Mars denotes male desire, passion and aggression. Mars shows how we assert ourselves. The planet Venus denotes female beauty, attraction, values, self-esteem and comfort. Venus shows how we value ourselves.
These two planets are the ones that get ignited when we first meet a potential mate. ‘The planets of attraction and desire’. It is beneficial within a relationship if these two planets are in harmony. If they are in negative aspect between two people, one could expect a somewhat aggressive relationship. If the planet Uranus is a player with either of these planets within the charts, there could be extreme sexual excitement. Sometimes this can lead to unhealthy relationships when no other positive connections are found with the two charts.
The sign that Mars is in, in a woman’s chart, represents the type of male she is looking; for example, a woman with Mars in Capricorn would prefer a male who is stable, good in business, possibly a father figure or a much older man. The sign that Venus is in, in a man’s chart, shows the type of woman he is looking for; for example, a man with Venus in Leo would prefer a woman who looks like she has just walked off the pages of Vogue magazine, loves to entertain, loyal, wonderful with children.
This also applies to same sex couples. Within these relationships each person within the relationship often takes on a male or female role.
Sometimes you will find in a male and female union that role reversal is very apparent and this often happens when the male has many female orientated planets within his chart and the female has more male orientated planets within hers. These relationships can work extremely well.
Mercury: The planet of communication in relationship astrology
The planet Mercury and its connections within two people’s charts is also very important as it relates to communication. Without healthy communication a relationship will gradually deteriorate.
Love starts with compatible horoscopes
When assessing a relationship we look to the inner planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) and their connections to the charts of the two people. Then we look to the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) to assess the influence they have to the inner planet within the charts.
There are many other compatible planetary influences that help to make a successful relationship. No couple will have them all, but in understanding the planetary connections between two people it can be assessed as to whether their relationship is long-term or to quote a phrase; ‘ships that pass in the night’.
